THE ADVENTURE

In 2022, we hosted our first ‘Run to the Border’ as we had seen routes within SA that went along the Botswana border fence. We learned a lot from that adventure, everyone had a great time and so we’re bringing it back.

The adventure starts in Johannesburg, we’ll head towards Marekele National Park, ride around it and start making our way towards the border roads using backcountry routes.

THE RIDING

This adventure will offer riders both great tar and off-road options. The off-road routes that we’ll do in this area consist of main gravel roads, some two tracks and border fence roads.

Our ride pace is kept manageable and we encourage all riders to ride within their comfort zones.

The off-road routes take us along some great remote areas including mountainous and bush regions of the area leading up towards Botswana.

Rider Skill Level Recommendation:
Must have prior off-road training or experience. NOT FOR BEGINNERS.

Road Surface:
The dirt roads we take our well traveled but still offer challenges along the way. No single tracks or trails will be taken on this trip.

THE ACCOMMODATION

There’s some really cool lodges to stay this side of the country with lovely hosts who run them. The hosts always look after our groups to make sure we all enjoy our time.

Whether you’re a rider on a budget who’s open to share rooms or you’d prefer to have your own private room we’ll have options.

There’s some really unique and eclectic accommodation options at Run to the Border. Every night, we’ll make sure that you’ve got a cozy bed to sleep in, hot showers and great chow.
