HHOHHOO REGION
The dirt roads of Eswatini’s Hhohho region offer a rugged and adventurous journey through some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes. Winding through rolling hills, dense forests, and remote valleys, these roads can be challenging, especially after heavy rains when mud and deep ruts make driving tricky. Travelers can expect a mix of gravel, rocky paths, and occasional river crossings, making a 4x4 vehicle or a dual-sport motorcycle the best choice for exploration.
Despite the rough terrain, the rewards are plenty—stunning mountain views, encounters with rural communities, and access to hidden gems like waterfalls and nature reserves. Wildlife sightings are common, with antelope, monkeys, and vibrant birdlife often appearing along the routes.
