The Western Cape of South Africa is truly amazing. The landscapes, scenery, roads, people and food all make a must visit destination.
This adventure will take you from Cape Town to Rooiberg Nature Reserve, east to Knysna through the forest, up Meiringspoort, through Swartberg Pass and eventually back to Cape Town on as much dirt as possible.
THE RIDING
This is an off-road focused adventure on public roads, so there won’t be any technical sections outside of any passes we may encounter.
Our ride pace is kept manageable to allow you to ride at your own pace, take in the view and make the most out of this adventure.
We will have a lead rider and sweep rider throughout the adventure so you will never get left behind. We will wait for you at your next turn, and our support vehicle will always be at the back.
ALL RIDERS ARE REQUIRED to bring with them a device to navigate with (Phone/GPS) and a means to mount on your bike at all times.
THE ACCOMMODATION
For this Western Cape Adventure we won’t be roughing it or camping and it won’t be 5 Star. We’re somewhere in between offering you a great mix of local places to stay that we think highlight this area really well.
We’ll stay at a lodge in Rooiberg Nature Reserve, enjoy waterfront views in Knysna and mountain lodge stays in Anysburg. You’ll be nice and cosy every night.
Riders will have the option to choose from private or shared accommodation.
Breakfast and dinner is also included.

We’ll get an early start out of Cape Town and make our way through the morning traffic heading east towards the Karoo.
We’ll have a nice stop for lunch, explore the back roads and be tucked away in the Rooiberg Nature Reserve around the fire for night 1 to enjoy a hearty braai.

We’ll look for the backroads out of Rooiberg making our way to the coastal town of Knysna where we’ll get to enjoy waterfront views at our cottages.

After breakfast we’ll make our way through the Knysna Forest through one of our favorite dirt roads in the country.
We’ll stop for refreshments and a swim in the river before heading up to Prince Albert for the evening. -
We’ll get up early as the day ahead is filled with some really special views in riding through Swartberg Pass.
Breakfast will be at a special spot just to the south of the pass that has become one of our favorites.
The rest of the day we’ll follow the river dirt roads before tucking away for the night in the Anysburg Nature Reserve to enjoy a Lamb Potjie.

RIDER REQUIREMENTS
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
Must consider yourself to be a confident off-road rider, have taken off-road training or have previous experience with multi-day adventures.
All riders must have some form of navigation at all times.
